Our Hudson Valley Home

DCC is a vibrant community nestled in New York’s beautiful Hudson Valley. Named “one of the world’s greatest places” by Time magazine, the Hudson Valley has a lot to offer — and endless places to explore!

One of the World’s Greatest Places

Become part of our exciting, enriching community, on- and off-campus! Stroll across the river and admire the view on the Walkway Over the Hudson, the longest pedestrian bridge over water in the world.

Take in some history at the FDR Presidential Library and Museum, Eleanor Roosevelt’s Val-Kill retreat, the Vanderbilt Mansion or the Samuel Morse estate.

Get outside and enjoy a hike or a bike ride—we’re home to recreational spaces like the Dutchess County Rail Trail, and not far from Lake Minnewaska and the Mohonk Preserve, well-known for their hiking trails and scenic views.

Three other colleges – Vassar, Marist and the Culinary Institute of America – are within a few miles, and SUNY New Paltz is less than 30 minutes away. You’re also close to restaurants, museums, movie theaters (including two drive-ins) and shopping. And if you want to get out of town, NYC is just a 90-minute ride on Metro-North or Amtrak.
