Faculty Supervisors: All College Connection instructors have access to DCC faculty members to support their teaching and student learning. If you are unsure of who your Concurrent Faculty Supervisor is, please review the College Connection Faculty Handbook or email collegeconnection@sunydutchess.edu.
Teaching Learning Center (TLC): As DCC faculty, College Connection instructors have access to the TLC, which provides faculty and staff with various best practices, opportunities for professional development, and trainings for student learning and success. A monthly newsletter from the TLC will be forwarded to all current College Connection instructors by the Director of Secondary & Post-Secondary School Partnerships & Initiatives. For additional information about the TLC, please visit their website.
Help Desk: For assistance with any DCC related technology, such as your myDCC or your DCC email, please see the Help Desk’s website.
College Connection instructors are held to the same standards as college part-time adjuncts to be approved to teach. Instructors interested in teaching DCC courses must have a master’s degree (preferably in the content area they wish to teach), graduate level coursework in the subject matter they wish to teach, and demonstrated knowledge of topics related to the course. Please see below regarding the process for approvals:
- Instructors should email an up-to-date resume and their unofficial graduate transcripts to collegeconnection@sunydutchess.edu.
- Upon receipt of the documents, we will pass the instructor’s information to the appropriate academic department for review.
- After reviewing the information, if the department would like to move forward, they will schedule an interview with the instructor (in-person or via Zoom).
- Following the interview, the department will determine the instructor’s eligibility. If the instructor meets the requirements, they will be approved to teach the discussed College Connection courses.
- The instructor will then meet with a staff member in Instruction & Learning to discuss next steps and the College Connection program, and will be assigned onboarding paperwork to complete.
