Withdrawal and Refund Policies

If a student would like to withdraw from a class, please notify the AOM office as soon as possible at (845) 431-8916 or aomoffice@sunydutchess.edu.

If a student needs to withdraw for outstanding circumstances such as a medical emergency, they will need to fill out this withdrawal appeal form in order to receive a refund.

Students will only be granted a full refund if they withdraw prior to the first class or lesson.

Below is the tuition refund schedule applicable to AOM Group Classes:

Classes on the 11-,  14-, and 21-Week Schedules

Prior to the first class 100%
After the first class 75%
After the second class 50%
After the third class 25%
After the fourth class 0%

Classes on the 7-Week Schedule

Prior to the first class 100%
After the first class 25%
After the second class 0%

If a group class is cancelled due to low enrollment, students will have the opportunity to transfer into a different class, transfer into private lessons, or receive a refund.

Individual Lessons

Full refunds are only available before your first lesson.

Trial packages (4-lessons) are not available for refunds once instruction has begun.

For Full Semester packages (14-lessons) tuition refunds of up to 7-lessons are available when you withdraw within the first two lessons. Students may attend during the withdrawal period (up to the 7th lesson)

For School Year packages (32-lessons) tuition refund up to 21 lessons are available when you withdraw within the first four lessons. Students may attend during the withdrawal period (up to the 11th lessons).

Students with delinquent accounts over $100 after the second lesson are subject to a $50 late payment fee and remaining tuition balance.

If you would like to switch instructors, you must wait until the end of your contract in order to do so. If you have any specific problems with an instructor, please contact the AOM Office.

Make-up Policies

If you need to cancel a lesson:

Please notify your instructor at least 48 hours in advance.

Make-up Lessons:

There will be make-up days and weeks available each term.

Up to 2 make-up lessons can be arranged within the term, if you provide 48-hour notice. Lessons canceled by the instructor will not count towards these 2 make-up lessons.

No make-up is possible for no-show lessons, for lessons canceled with less than 48-hour notice, or for canceled make-ups.

No make-up is to be scheduled beyond the end of the semester.

If you are late:

Instructors are not obligated to make-up any missed lesson time.

If an instructor cancels or is late:

Make-up lessons or additional times are arranged.

For group classes, if you miss a class:

It is not possible to make up lost instruction from a missed class. There are no make-up classes unless the instructor or college cancels the class.
