Checklist for Early Admissions
It’s easy to apply for early admission to Dutchess Community College. Here’s a list of what you need and where to start.
The Super-Easy Step-By-Step Guide
To enroll as an Early Admissions/Bridge student at DCC, just follow these steps to apply, register, and get ready for classes. This program is open to qualifying high school juniors and seniors.
Why enroll early? Save $$! NYS high school students pay 1/3 the tuition rate.
Step 1: Apply to Dutchess Community College
It’s all online – and you don’t have to complete and submit your application all in one sitting. Get started, save your information, and return when you're ready.
Step 2: Submit Your Official Transcripts
Your high school guidance counselor will send these to us directly — just check in with them after you submit your application to make sure they received the email notification.
We’ll send all notifications to your new myDCC account, so be sure to check it often!
LOG IN TO MYDCCStep 3: Determine Your Academic Placement
Before registering for an English or math course, we'll need to review your transcript to decide what class level you should take.
Depending on which track you choose, we may ask you to take a placement test. There's no need to schedule a placement test right away — we’ll let you know if one is required.
If you need special accommodation for your placement test, just contact DCC's Office of Accommodative Services before your test.
Step 4: Provide Your Immunization Records
Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)
If you're taking six or more credits, you must submit proof of your immunity to measles, mumps and rubella before you can attend classes. There are two options to verify this:>
- Complete the Certificate of Immunization Form and upload your records online.
- Ask your medical provider or school nurse to fax the records to us at (845) 431-8504.
Students born before January 1, 1957 are exempt from the MMR requirement.
Step 5: Register for Classes
We'll let you know when you're all set to register. It's all online, so check your myDCC email account for the notification email with instructions.
Remember: If you don't pay your tuition before the semester starts, you'll be dropped from your classes.
Step 6: Make Payment Arrangements
Right after you're done registering, get your tuition payment taken care ASAP to secure your schedule. You'll find your tuition bill and payment options in myDCC.
You can either pay the full amount due right away or set up a payment plan.
Step 7: Provide Your Proof of Residency
We'll initially charge you out-of-state tuition until we confirm that you are a resident of New York State.
