Human Services Club
All Human Services Program students are encouraged to join the Human Services Club, the campus club devoted to community service projects and disseminating information about subjects of interest to human services students and professionals.
The Club has sponsored a variety of speakers in the past on subjects ranging from stress management to alcoholism to careers in mental health and child care. They also have traditionally sponsored community service projects such as collecting candy for trick or treat bags for needy children at Halloween, Christmas caroling at a homeless shelter, making Easter baskets for homeless children, and selling holiday greeting cards to benefit local charities.
Members of the club represent Dutchess Community College at the annual conference of the Mid-Atlantic Consortium for Human Services (MACHS), a conference of human service faculty and students from throughout the mid-Atlantic region featuring workshops and nationally-known speakers. This is a great opportunity to network with hundreds of other human services students and learn about the field.
