Veterans Administration Benefits
Whether you’re on active duty, in the reserves, or have already completed your service, you’re likely eligible for benefits under the federal GI Bill. Some benefits are available to spouses and children of veterans too!
Dutchess Community College is approved for full Veterans Administration educational benefits.

Alternative Loans
Beyond the Federal Stafford loan, you may also qualify for a credit-based private loan. These loans, offered by banks and credit unions, are specifically targeted to address educational costs.
- If you’re an undergraduate student with a limited credit history, most lenders will require you to have a co-signer.
- Interests rate and fees for these loans are variable, based on the combined credit scores of you and (if necessary) your co-signer.
- Be sure to have your loan officer or a Student Financial Services advisor explain all the terms and conditions of these loans before you apply or sign an agreement.
