What You Can Study in Our Education Programs

At DCC, you have options, depending on where you are in your career, how far you want to go, and what age range you wish to work with.

With an array of associate degrees, dual certifications with SUNY New Paltz and a selection of one-year certifications, DCC’s Education program is the launch pad to your successful career in the classroom. Explore which Education program is the best fit for your passions and talents.

DEPARTMENT PAGE

Education: Adolescent

Students are simultaneously admitted to DCC & SUNY New Paltz, and concentrate in teaching biology, chemistry, earth science, English, history/social studies or math to 7th-12th graders.

Education: Early Childhood

A jointly registered program with SUNY New Paltz that leads to New York State teaching certification in English, Spanish, history, math or biology for early childhood and childhood learners.

Early Childhood A.A.S.

Build the skills necessary to work with young children. Your coursework is bolstered by extended placements in DCC’s Laboratory Nursery School and local childcare centers.

Early Childhood Caregiver

A one-year certification program for students who wish to create appropriate learning environments for infants and toddlers in daycare settings.

Child Development Associate

Your support is vital to the children you serve. Our Child Development Associate (CDA) microcredential provides the same for you.
