Apprenticeship Training
A Solution to Meeting Growing Workforce Needs
To meet the growing need for a skilled workforce, New York State has provided funding for community colleges to develop one of the largest statewide public/private partnership apprenticeship programs in the country. The SUNY Apprenticeship Program will assist in developing Registered Apprenticeships in advanced manufacturing, healthcare, cybersecurity, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and other high needs fields.
Dutchess Community College is ready to support new trade titles with related instruction. We are already an approved provider of related instruction for the following trades:
- Electro Mechanical Technician
- Industrial Manufacturing Technician
- Maintenance Mechanic (Automatic Equipment)
- Quality Assurance Auditor
- Toolmaker
- Machinist (CNC) Direct Support Professional
- Direct Support Professional
- Childcare Assistant
Apprenticeship is an employer driven program. If your company already has a registered apprenticeship through the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL), then you may be eligible to get the related instruction portion of an apprenticeship partly/fully covered. If you have questions or decided that apprenticeship is right for your company, contact your NYSDOL representative to get started.
