This is the first half of a foundation to the Portuguese language vocabulary and structure. It is for students with little or no previous knowledge of the language. Included are the fundamentals of speaking, listening, reading and writing, as well as culture relating to the Portuguese-speaking world. Grammatical concepts will include the present-tense verbs and basic sentence syntax.

This is the second half of a foundation course to the Portuguese language vocabulary and structure. It is a continuation of Elementary Portuguese I. Included are additional fundamentals of speaking, listening, reading and writing as well as culture relating to the Portuguese-speaking world. Grammatical concepts will include both preterit and imperfect past-tense verb forms. Prerequisite: POR 101 or permission of the department
