MUX 701 CHORUS (Ages 16+)
(16 sessions) Are you a soprano? Alto? Tenor? Bass? Sing in a variety of musical styles from contemporary choral pieces to choral classics. This large ensemble of 40+ members is open to everyone who has had some singing experience and would like an opportunity to improve their ability to blend, phrase, and work together in a musical group. There will be at least one public performance including the final performance on Wednesday, May 8 at 7:30 p.m.

MUX 700 ORCHESTRA (Ages 16+)
(16 sessions) Do you like Beethoven, Brahms, and Wagner as well as Broadway musical medleys? This ensemble is open to anyone playing flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, violin, viola, cello, double bass, or percussion, and has prior experience on their instrument and ability to read music. In partnership with the Mid-Hudson Community orchestra this group usually has 50+ members. There will be at least 2-3 public performances including the final performance on Wednesday, May 8 at 7:30 p.m.

To register for Chorus or Orchestra, you can pre-register by calling Laura G. Doe, Music School director, at (845) 431-8916. OR, you can register in-class on the first day.
Students wishing to take MUX 701 Chorus or MUX 700 Orchestra for 1 credit have the option of enrolling at DCC Registrar’s office by calling (845) 431-8020.
MUX 613 VOCAL TECHNIQUES FOR ADULTS
(6 Sessions) Good vocal technique begins with the fundamentals. Create a voice with a firm foundation that can take you in any direction and singing any kind of music you prefer. In an atmosphere of safety and respect, together we will work on the breathing and body support that will inform your singing for the rest of your life. Tone, placement, flexibility and resonance will be covered. Learning to use your voice to its greatest range, expression, and beauty, we will also work on style, interpretation and stage presence in the context of healthy, dependable vocal technique. Beginners to advanced singers are welcome. No class 3/11.
