Individuals who have been convicted of an alcohol or drug-related driving violation
may be required to participate in New York State’s Impaired Driver Program (IDP) (previously
known as Drinking Driving Program (DDP)) or an approved out-of-state program to regain
a conditional license. This class is only available to those who have a court mandate
to participate.
Students may register for this program at any local DMV office.
Classes are held once a week, for seven consecutive weeks. Classes are typically held
Monday-Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. Classes usually last for approximately two hours
each day. Students may be required to satisfy additional requirements to successfully
complete the IDP.
