With the housing market back on the rise, it’s an excellent time to consider a career
in real estate. Our program is designed to provide the foundational skills necessary
to begin your journey to work as a licensed real estate salesperson, property manager
or rental agent.
Class will meet through remote digital learning environments such as Zoom for “live”
group classes. Students will also be using remote environments such as Blackboard
and email for asynchronous components. Students will need a computer, tablet or smart
phone with reliable wifi connection.
Please note: registration for the class will close one week before the start date!
You will be expected to regularly check your email for instructions on how to join
the “live” classes and log into your Blackboard account. If the start date is approaching
and you have not seen an email from us, please check your spam folder. You must also
attempt to log into your account a few days prior to the start of the course so that
you can notify us of any problems that may require assistance from the computer helpdesk.
Our real estate course is a New York state-approved Salesperson's 75-hour licensing
course. Topics include: law of agency, ownerships and interests, contracts, deeds,
liens, taxes and assessments, transfer of title and closing, construction, finance,
valuation, Human Rights & Fair Housing, and more. In addition to passing the course
final exam, passing a separate NYS exam is required for licensure. If you like working
both independently as well as with other people, are confident, assertive, ambitious
and not swayed by rejection, then you can go far in this field. While our students
come from many backgrounds and varying education levels, some prior knowledge of retail
and or sales is helpful.
