Do I need a high school diploma to register for this program?
Although it's not necessary to possess a high school diploma or equivalent in order to register for this program, it is recommended that you do complete a high school course of study prior to enrolling as it’s likely to be required by potential employers. Do I need to have prior experience to register for this program?
No prior experience is necessary.
Are there any pre-admission or testing requirements?

How do I register for this program?
Registration can be done online or by contacting the college (office of community education/services)
Is there financial aid available for this program?
No. However funding might be available through Dutchess One-Stop or ACCES-VR.
Is there a payment plan available for this program?
Yes. If you choose not to pursue funding and instead wish to self-pay, our payment plan can break-down the total cost of the tuition into smaller payments.
How much time outside of class is required for reading and homework each week?
Approximately 2-3 hours per class or about 5 hours per week are recommended for reading, homework and studying.
How important is attendance?
Attendance accounts for 50% of the final grade.
How is the course grade determined?
Attendance accounts for 50%, the average of 3 quizzes account for 25% and final exam is 25%. This is a pass/fail class.
What is the certifying agency?
ASPT American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians & National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
What are the costs for the certification exam?
An $85.00 non-refundable fee is required to take the exam.
Do you offer the certification exam on campus?
Yes, the exam is given on campus during final class.
Is certification necessary to work in the industry?
No, but it is almost always requested by employers.
Will there be additional training requirements after I am certified?
Certification is renewed annually. Requirements are continuing education credits and a fee. Additional training requirements may vary according to employer.
Do you offer a clinical/ externship?
