EMT Refresher

The EMT Refresher course is designed to review and update the EMT to current standards in psychomotor and cognitive knowledge.  The program incorporates a challenge mechanism allowing those who can demonstrate competency to be exempt from the remedial sessions of the refresher program. This is a hybrid course: some dates will be held synchronously on-line, the rest of the course dates will meet in-person at DCC Main Campus in CBI 208. Written Challenge and CPR Challenge is 08/20/24, 6:00PM - 9:00 PM. Practical Challenge and CPR Challenger is 08/22/24, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. 

Prerequisites: Must previously be, but not necessarily currently, certified as a NYS EMT.  No textbook is required; however, it is recommended for review. Please call the office at (845) 431-8390 for challenge details.  

*IMPORTANT* – PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH REGISTRATION:

• If you are a current member of an EMS agency and qualify for tuition deferment through the NYS DOH, STOP!  You must call the EMS Office to register for class – 845-431-8390.

Regardless of whether or not you are taking the written and challenge refresher exams, you must attend the day of the written challenge to complete required course paperwork.
