Advisement
Your step-by-step guide
ACT Center staff are working with students remotely and in-person.
If you wish to connect with us, email act@sunydutchess.edu and the Zoom link will be provided. If you have an assigned Academic Coach, we encourage you to schedule your appointment through Starfish.
Students may be assigned an Academic Coach who will work with throughout their time at DCC. We encourage students to meet with their coach a minimum of three times in a semester. When meeting with your coach, please come prepared to discuss your progression in coursework, plans for the following semester, and advise coaches if you are feeling distracted or are experiencing difficulties with your classes.
- The ACT Center Syllabus: This syllabus provides a detailed description of the academic partnership between students and their Academic Coach. This document contains information and resources to support academic success. It is meant to provide a better understanding of the ACT Center’s purpose in your academic journey, as well as emphasize the importance of the proactive role you must play in your academic and career plans.
- Course Syllabus: Your syllabus is your contract with faculty. The ACT Center encourages students to keep their syllabi for all courses and review them throughout the semester in order to remain mindful of important assignments and deadline.
- DegreeWorks: This is an online tool that students can utilize to see their course progression. DegreeWorks provides a degree audit for students and can be accessed through your MyDCC. Click Here for a DegreeWorks Video Guide.
- DCC College Catalog: The academic catalog is available online and has important information regarding college policies, grading, curriculum, enrollment and registration.
