The Dutchess Community College Foundation hosted the 18th Biennial Dutchess Heritage Quilt Show Oct. 7 and 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on DCC’s main campus in Poughkeepsie.
The show included vendors, quilt judging, lectures, food concessions and workshops. In honor of DCC’s 60th anniversary in 2017, the raffle quilt "Jade Garden" incorporated the six-sided hexagon as a primary design feature.
Show admission is $6, $5 for seniors. Visit www.DHQuiltshow.org to register for the judged quilt show or receive a coupon for $1 off admission.
All proceeds go to support the Dutchess Heritage Quilters Scholarship, which is given annually each May at the DCC Convocation. Two scholarships are awarded each year to a non-traditional student in the Performing, Visual Arts and Communications department.
The first show, a partnership between the Dutchess Heritage Quilters, volunteers from First Dutchess Quilters and Dutchess Community College, was held at the college on June 4 and 5, 1983.
