Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance Program Coming Fall 2020

Starting in Fall 2020, the FAA-approved program will prepare graduates to be aircraft mechanics, a well-paying field in which there is tremendous job opportunity and high demand. The DCC program will provide students with an exceptional learning experience, enhanced by state-of-the-art laboratory and classroom facilities housed in a hangar to be constructed at Hudson Valley Regional Airport in Wappinger. The project is being funded by the state and the county.

The Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance program builds on Dutchess Community College’s experience and success in aviation education; associate degrees in the majors of pilot and aviation management have been offered for several years. The new, 12-month program will lead to aircraft mechanic certification.
