Students may be assigned to coaches who will work with them until graduation. We encourage students to meet with their coach a minimum of three times in a semester. During your session with your coach please come prepared to discuss your progression in coursework, plans for the following semester, and advise coaches if you are feeling distracted or are experiencing difficulties with your classes.

Due to our re-opening plan, all ACT Center staff are working with students remotely. Academic Coaches are available through video (Zoom), email, and phone. If you wish to connect with us email act@sunydutchess.edu and the Zoom link will be provided. If you have an assigned coach we encourage you to schedule your appointment through Starfish. Review this guide on how to schedule an appointment with your Academic Coach.

The ACT Center Advising Syllabus - Your advising syllabus provides information and resources to further support academic success. The syllabus informs what is expected of you, as the student, and also the key responsibilities of your academic coach. It is meant to provide a better understanding of the ACT Center’s purpose in your academic journey, as well as emphasize the importance of the proactive role you must play in your academic and career plans.
