The Student Government Association (SGA) provides students the opportunity to be active
in their campus and local communities. Members attend weekly meetings where they discuss
various events, activities and issues, and participate in service projects, learn
about the governance process and make new and lasting friendships. Involvement in
SGA helps students become leaders as they gain confidence, practice collaboration
and develop networking skills that will serve them for a lifetime.
The Student Government Association is looking for students willing to fill positions
in our Executive Board and Student Senate. If you are interested you must be a full
time student and have no violations of the Student Code of Conduct, with a minimum
GPA of 2.5.
The Student Government is looking for students for the following positions:
Student Senator – Senators attend the SGA Senate meetings on Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. Senators represent
the students, so they need to be aware of issues concerning the students to be able
act as a link between the students and the Senate. This position is elected by the
Student Senate. For the fall 2020 semester Senate meetings will meet via zoom once
per month.
If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact Matt Hanlon at hanlon@sunydutchess.edu.
