POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — NOV. 1, 2024 — Dutchess Community College is excited to present “The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical” from Nov. 14 to 17. This vibrant production, directed by AnnChris Warren, showcases the talents of over 60 DCC students from various majors—including performing arts, visual art, communications and engineering—demonstrating the power of collaboration across disciplines. The show is produced by DCC’s Performing Arts program and DCC’s Masquers’ Guild Theatre Club.
Based on Rick Riordan’s bestselling novel, the musical follows the adventure of Percy Jackson, a teenager who discovers he’s a demigod. As he embarks on a quest to recover Zeus’ stolen lightning bolt, Percy must navigate a world filled with mythical creatures and prevent a war among the gods.
Performances will take place at DCC’s James and Betty Hall Theatre in Dutchess Hall, with three evening shows at 7 p.m. on November 14-16 and a matinee on November 17 at 2 p.m.
Ticket prices are as follows: general admission is $15; students (not attending DCC) and seniors 60+ are $10 and DCC students are $5.
