Information for Parents

Thank you for considering Dutchess Community College! Attending DCC makes sense for all types of students and their families. We’re close to home, have the lowest tuition of any college or university in the state, and we offer over 50 degree and certificate programs.

Parents often have questions about billing, communications and other issues. Here’s some information you might find helpful.

  • FERPA: In accordance with the Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (Buckley Amendment), student information will not be released without consent of the student. A FERPA Release of information form is located at https://www.sunydutchess.edu/financialaid/assets/FERPA.pdf

  • MyDCC: When a student applies to DCC, he or she will receive a letter from Admissions with information regarding the application, as well as a user name and password for the myDCC portal. It is important that students log into this portal for information about the college, including access to the financial aid, payment, and housing processes.

  • Measles, Mumps and Rubella: NYS Public Health Law requires all students to submit immunization records. Further information is available at https://www.sunydutchess.edu/mmr.html.

  • Billing: All billing is done electronically through our e-Commerce Suite. Students can set their parents, or other designee, as an authorized user. Authorized users will have their own login and passwords. They will be notified when statements are available, can make payments on a student’s account, or sign up for the FACTS Payment Plan. Have your student log in through myDCC, select the Student Financial Services Tab, and Click on the QuikPay Link. If you are not a student or are not yet set up as an Authorized User, you can use the Guest Payer access here to make a one-time payment.

  • E-mail: DCC’s primary mode of communication is through the student’s email. Students can set up their smartphones to receive DCC email. Visit the DCC Wiki for Android and iPhone setup information.

  • Financial Aid Eligibility: Summer 2016 Financial Aid Eligibility information is available by clicking here. For fall or spring semesters, please review the Financial Aid page.

  • Housing: Students interested in on-campus housing must apply for housing in addition to their admissions application. Housing applications can be submitted via the Residence Life tab in myDCC.
