Non-Traditional is the New Traditional!

Background info:

According to the National Center for Education Statistics, non-traditional students aren't so non-traditional anymore.

What is a Non-traditional student? A non-traditional student is characterized by possessing one or more of the following characteristics:

  1. Delayed enrollment into postsecondary education
  2. Attends college part-time
  3. Works full time
  4. Is financially independent for financial aid purposes
  5. Has dependents other than a spouse
  6. Is a single parent
  7. Does not have a high school diploma.

More than 70 % of all undergraduates in US institutions share one or more of these characteristics mentioned above. Today, more than 47 % of students who are currently enrolled in colleges and universities in the USA are older than 25. Hence, it is said that 27 is now the new 18.
