DCC offers NetTutor®, a free online service that connects students to professional tutors in a variety of subjects. Tutors are available evenings and weekends for most subjects, with certain subjects available 24/7. The service can help with almost any assignment or paper, and is a great supplement to traditional campus resources.
How do I get started?
Online tutoring is available through the My Courses tab in myDCC, in the “Online Tutoring” channel. Simply click on the course you wish to seek tutoring in! Once connected to NetTutor and the subject in which you wish to get tutored, simply click the “Join Live Tutorial” button to connect to a tutor’s chat room. If you wish to submit a paper to the Paper Center instead, simply click on the Paper Center button and follow the instructions.
What courses are available, and what times may I access online tutoring?
Tutoring is available for many courses at DCC, including Math, Chemistry, Biology, Social Sciences, English, and many others. For an up-to-date listing of subjects available and a current schedule of available tutoring times, please see the Online Tutoring channel in MyDCC.
What if I don’t have time to chat with an online tutor?
The Q&A Center allows you to ask a question offline, which a tutor will usually answer within 24 hours. When an answer has been prepared, you will receive an email notifying you that your question is ready. After you review the answer, you can ask a follow-up question.
What if I need more help?
If you have any questions or technical difficulties, you can submit a customer service request from within NetTutor. Simply click the “customer service request” link and fill out the form. For more information, including frequently asked questions, visit http://www.nettutor.com/usermanual/
