Students Awarded Scholarships at Honors Convocation Ceremony

Graduation Image

One hundred and thirty seven scholarship awards were handed out at Dutchess Community College’s Honors Convocation on May 15.

More than $100,000 in scholarship money was awarded to students this year, and more than $715,000 has been given in the Convocation ceremonies since they began 12 years ago.

The scholarships are awarded to both students entering their second year at Dutchess and to graduating students who are moving on to four-year colleges and universities in the fall. DCC scholarships are created by local people and organizations to honor family members and reward academic excellence.

In 1959 he became the first head of the department. He is credited with developing the first business programs at DCC, as well as teaching most of the early courses in general business, retailing, and secretarial science. He retired in 1986. Auction—October 12

“Going once, going twice, SOLD…” and what a wonderful success the Fifth Annual Benefit Auction “Festifall” 2007 was.  The atmosphere was very festive with all of the beautiful chrysanthemums and autumnal flair adding to the picturesque setting at Dutchess Golf and Country Club.  We have been hearing wonderful comments and we are very pleased with the outcome of the festivities.

The event was held on October 12th and raised over $56,000 and drew together about 100 Alumni and friends of Dutchess Community College. The proceeds raised benefit student scholarships, faculty/staff mini-grants, and other educational enhancements to our campus.

We could not have done it without the support provided by our donors, participants, and volunteers.
